Writing
At Hayfield, writing is at the heart of our curriculum and is built on strong foundations in oracy, reading and language development. We adapt the CLPE Power of Reading approach to immerse children in high-quality texts, inspiring purposeful writing and a genuine love of language. Teachers draw on Hayfield’s own Grammar Progression document and individual text progression documents to support high-quality planning, teaching and assessment, ensuring skills are taught progressively and coherently. Through strong pedagogical knowledge and adaptive teaching, learning is carefully tailored to meet the needs of all pupils, providing appropriate support and challenge so every child can succeed and develop confidence as a writer.
